Ideal for RCBO production QC and incoming inspection.
Semi‑Automatic RCBO Comprehensive Test Bench
The semi-automatic testing of all functions performed on Residual Current Circuit Breakers with Overcurrent Protection (RCBO) will be conducted using this equipment. The three main tests that will be performed by this bench are: the Residual Current Trip Test (also reffered to as a Leakage Test), the Test Button Verification test and the Tripping Time Measurement Test. The semi-automatic operating mode allows for the manual loading and unloading of RCBO’s and the automated test, as well as the automated pass and fail process using the OK or NG indicators. It will accommodate all of your needs, including the fixture to accommodate RCBO’s of 18mm modular size, 1P+N configuration, 3P+N configuration and a current rating range of 10A to 63A (10A, 16A, 20A, 25A, 32A, 40A, 50A, and 63A). Additionally, the fixtures will allow you to easily and quickly switch from one RCBO model to another without changing tools.
Standard delivery: 30-45 days | Quick model changeover | AC/A‑type one‑key switch
What Problems Does This Test Bench Solve?
Typically, using multiple testers is needed to test RCBO’s at a range of current ratings (from 10A to 63A), leakage sensitivities (30mA, 100mA, etc), and with separate test setups for testing AC and A type devices. Changing between different test models can take up a lot of time, and there are likely to be mistakes made in the interpretation of the pass/fail results manually. The semi-automatic comprehensive test bench aimed to resolve these key issues by:
- Wide compatibility – Provides options to support multiple ratings (up to 8) and configurations (1P+N or 3P+N) in one fixture instead of requiring separate dummy plugs/testing devices for each configuration.
- Quick model changeover – The 18mm modular fixture allows switching between different RCBOs in seconds, not minutes.
- AC/A‑type one‑key switching No reconfiguration of hardware necessary with automatic switching of test waveforms and phase angles by the instrument.
- Automatic pass/fail judgment – OK/NG indicators and digital readout remove operator interpretation error.
Supports 10A, 16A, 20A, 25A, 32A, 40A, 50A, 63A – no tooling change needed between ratings.
Test A‑type RCBOs at 0°, 90°, 135°, 180°, -90°, -135° phase angles with a single button.
Programmable IΔn covers standard 30mA, 100mA, 300mA, and custom values.
Green/red lights + digital trip time display – instant, unambiguous results.

Core Customer Benefits – Why Manufacturers Choose This Bench
Benefit 1: One bench for 8 current ratings
This test bed uses one fixture to test all the above Amp values rather than purchasing individual testers for each rating of 10, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50 and 63 Amps. To set-up from one rating to another is done in seconds; Select your required HMI recipe then load the RCBO. This has resulted in up to 60% lower Capital expenditure and saved Factory Floor Space.
Benefit 2: AC & A‑type testing without hardware changes
A traditional A-type RCBO test requires a difficult adjustment to the phase angles when testing. Our unique switching system can produce the necessary test waveforms (0°, 90°, 135°, 180°, -90°, and -135°) using only one button on the front of the tester. Therefore, there is no need for external phase shifters or manual adjustments, which saves 50% of the time involved in testing an A-type product.
Benefit 3: Fast, accurate leakage current
The current source stabilizes within 2 seconds with <2% drift and <3% waveform distortion – meeting IEC 61008‑1 / 61009‑1 requirements for repeatable trip time measurement. Operators no longer wait for current to stabilize, increasing throughput.
Benefit 4: Automatic test button verification
The RCBO’s test button is pressure tested and the tripping confirmed by the use of a pneumatic cylinder instead of manually pressing the button, which can take a longer amount of time and be inconsistent between different operator. The Testing cycle will occur at the same time as the leakage Testing cycle.
Customer Success – RCBO Manufacturer Cuts Test Time by 70%
Previously, they had to use two different testers, one for each type of device, and manually switch the fixtures for different current ratings. The average test time was 45 seconds per unit, and A-type phase angle tests required an external tester. After using their new semi-automatic comprehensive test bench with one key for switching between AC and A-type and the 18mm modular fixture, they were able to achieve:
This product allowed the client to increase production due to expansion, which resulted in lower overhead costs. They were able to amortize the cost of this piece of equipment within seven months.

자주 묻는 질문
1-pole with Neutral and 3-pole with Neutral (18mm Modular Size) Current ratings 10A, 16A, 20A, 25A, 32A, 40A, 50A, 63A RCBOs. The device is capable of testing both AC-type and A-type devices, with the exception of AC-type devices having phase angles set using a single key.
The 18mm modular fixture accommodates all ratings without needing any mechanical changes. You select the desired test recipe (i.e., 16A, 32A) from the HMI touch screen, and the bench automatically sets the appropriate leakage current threshold and trip time window. There are no tooling changes necessary.
AC-type RCBOs are designed to trip with a sinusoidal residual current and A-type RCBOs also need to trip for different types of switching, such as phase shifting with different degrees of phase angle (e.g. 0 degrees, 90 degrees and 135 degrees). The bench system will have a one-key switching system to generate the required waveform for A-type testing, but no external phase shifters are required for use with these devices.
Certainly. A pneumatic cylinder will automatically depress the button of an RCBO test and check that it trips in the required time. This removes the need for manually pressing the test button and guarantees consistency of test results.
The approximate cycle time for a 30 mA leakage test, which includes verifying the test button, is around 10-15 seconds for each RCBO; however, it may take longer to conduct type A tests (at multiple phase angles); yet all A-type checks or tests are still considerably quicker than checking manually.
