Manual MCB Magnetic Trip Test Bench for Instantaneous Protection
The MCB magnetic trip test bench is a high precision system used to test the instantaneous magnetic trip protection of miniature circuit breakers (MCBs). This unique operational configuration enables the operator to manually determine the level of test current and observe the instantaneous trip characteristics of the MCB under simulated short-circuit conditions. The MCB test rack enables accurate measurement of trip current and response time to ensure that all MCBs conform to applicable safety standards (IEC 60898-1). The bench features a simple, rugged, and user-friendly design making it suitable for small production runs, laboratory testing, and quality inspection. The manual testing system offers users consistently reliable performance, ease of use, and repeatable results for verifying the operational characteristics of the MCB magnetic trip feature.

What is an MCB Manual Magnetic Trip Test Bench?
The MCB Manual Magnetic Trip Test Bench is a very simple but effective test method for checking the instant trip (magnetically) protection of MCBs by short circuit. Manually operated manual mode allows manual adjustment of the test current via either a potentiometer or encoder; after the test current setting has been made, the operator starts the test by injecting a high current pulse (typically between 5 and 10 times the rated current), and records the time it takes to trip the MCB in milliseconds on a digital timer. This type of system is well suited for low volume production, portable applications, and educational labs where price and flexibility are more important than higher levels of fully automated throughput; and conforms to the requirements of IEC 60898-1 for instant trip testing of the protective characteristics of MCBs. As a non-standard/custom configured solution, we will work with you to develop the appropriate current range (up to 5,000A peak) based on your specific product line. In addition to making the proper fixture and timer to suit the particular MCB series.
Dial or digital encoder for precise test current setting (5‑10× In).
Digital display, range 0‑999ms, accuracy ±1ms.
Adjustable clamps for 1P, 2P, 3P, 4P MCBs.
Supports B, C, D trip curve testing.

Keunggulan Teknis Inti
Simple, rugged design for daily use
Constructed using heavy-duty industrial-grade components and featuring a stout, solid construction to endure the rigors of high-volume recurring use in production floor and after-market field environments. There is no need for an extraordinary level of training; operators will be able to perform testing within minutes.
Accurate manual current setting
The adjustment of the test current multiplier (e.g., 5x, 7.5x, and 10x) can be made accurately with a large dial or digital encoder. The operator has total control and can see the actual current on either an analogue or digital meter.
Fast, repeatable trip time measurement
The timer starts automatically when the current pulse is applied and stops when the MCB has tripped. The operator can read the result directly without needing to use a stopwatch.
Versatile fixture for different MCB types
The adjustable clamps can accept 1P, 2P, 3P, and 4P MCBs without the need for changing any tools. The space between each clamp is adjustable from 10mm – 30mm to match the terminal pitch of your terminals.
Customer Success Story – Electrical Workshop
After having no equipment to test MCBs (miniature circuit breakers) for their drop in performance due to new magnetics being added to them and needing to replace them, a small electrical workshop (within a control panel) now has a manual MCB Trip Bench that was created by Benlong. It is portable because it comes with a rugged carrying case and uses simple dial controls to measure magnetics. Results after 6 months of use:
The bench paid for itself in 3 months by avoiding false replacements and reducing downtime.

Pertanyaan yang Sering Diajukan
An instantaneous magnetic trip is a mechanism to protect against short circuits. The breaker will trip nearly instantaneously when the current flowing exceeds approximately 5-10 times its rated capacity. A thermal trip is used to protect against overload conditions. The breaker will trip after several seconds to several minutes of continuous overload at approximately 1.13-1.45 times rated capacity. This bench test will only provide data for the magnetic trip portion of the breaker operation.
Sure. This bench lets you manually adjust the test current over its range. For B-curves, you will set the current to 5x In and for C-curves you will set it to 10x In (or in between). The timer will display the time it took to trip.
A dedicated power feed (typically either 32 A to 63 A depending upon the maximum tested current) is required to supply the high current generator because a standard 220 V outlet is not suitable. The requirement will be defined by our engineers prior to the quote process.
Yes, there will be an emergency stop button as standard practice. A supplementary enclosed test chamber (with an interlock) may be added for further protection against accidental contact with the live terminal when conducting tests.
The duration of manual testing for each MCB is about 10 to 20 seconds (this includes loading, setting of current, applying pulses to the MCB and unloading). In comparison, the actual duration of the high-current pulse is in hundreds of milliseconds.
