What Is An Automated Production Line?
An automated production line is a series of connected machines and work stations permitted to assemble or perform testing functions with little or no human input. The ACB Automatic Production Line assembles arc chute assemblies, prints using lasers, pads, wraps with tape, calibrates the ETU, and tests high voltage operations and is controlled by a central PLC that has the capability of logging the data on an MES.
What Is ACB In LV Panel?
ACB means Air Circuit Breaker and is a type of circuit breaker used as the main incoming breaker to an LV switchgear panel. LV Switchgear ACBs are available in ranges from 630A to 6300A. ACBs are designed to protect against both overloads and short circuits, ACBs typically include electronic trip units (ETUs). ACB’s ETUs have adjustable L, S, I, & G protection curves. The ACB Automatic Production Line assembles and tests ACBs used for the distribution of power at LV levels.
What Is The Full Automatic Production Line?
A full automatic production line refers to the fact that all manufacturing processes from feeding of components to final testing is accomplished using machines with no human intervention.
In our ACB line we manufacture (or automate) arc chute loading, vision-guided assembly, tape wrapping, laser marking, pad printing, contact resistance testing, hi-pot testing, ETU calibration (L-S-I-G), and packaging all on the same conveyor. The operator only has to monitor the system and load the component magazines.
What’s The Difference Between ACB And MCCB?
ACB (Air Circuit Breaker) and MCCB (Molded Case Circuit Breaker) are both types of low voltage circuit breakers. They differ in the current rating and application for each; ACBs are used to protect against short circuits at a level higher than the current rating of the circuit breaker (630A to 6300A) and serve as the main incoming circuit breaker for LV switchgear; while MCCBs are intended to protect against short circuits at a level lower than the current rating of the circuit breaker (10A to 1600A) and serve as both feeder protection and branch protection. ACBs typically have electronic trip units (ETUs) that include adjustable L-S-I-G curves while MCCBs typically have thermostatic-magnetic or basic electronic trip units. Generally speaking, ACBs support higher currents, and the size of the physical frame is larger compared to MCCBs.
What Is The Typical Production Capacity Of This ACB Line?
Our standard ACB automatic production line has a production capacity of 800-1200 poles per 8-hour shift. The line has an average cycle time per pole of 25 seconds or less. If we need to increase our output further, we can increase the number of parallel stations or speed up the conveyor.
Can The Line Handle Different ACB Frame Sizes?
Our ACB line can handle multiple frame sizes (e.g., 1600A to 4000A). The use of interchangeable fixtures and a recipe-based PLC control allows us to change over from one frame size to another within 30 minutes. If you would like to do this more quickly, we can provide you with additional tooling kits.
