What is MCB Test Bench?

MCB Test Bench is automated electrical testing equipment to check out performance of miniature circuit breakers. MCB Test Bench tests the MCB for tripping time, contact resistance, insulation resistance, dielectric strength, leakage current (only for RCBO) and mechanical endurance according to the requirements of IEC 60898/61009 standard.

How to bench test circuit breaker?

Bench test Circuit Breakers; 1. mount MCB on test fixture, 2. apply rated current and overload (5 times of in) to record trip time, 3. measure contact resistance using a micro ohm meter, 4. perform insulation and dielectric tests. All steps of an automatic MCB Test Bench are performed automatically along with data recording.

What tests can be performed on an MCB?

The MCB Test Bench is capable of: thermal magnetic trip time testing (B/C/D curves), short circuit release testing, contact resistance testing (micro ohm), insulation resistance testing (500V/1000V), dielectric withstand testing (2000V), leakage current testing for RCBOs, and mechanical endurance testing (thousands of ON/OFF operations).

What is the typical throughput of a standard MCB automatic test bench?

Our standard inline test bench has a basic throughput of 1200 calculated tests per hour based on the electrical parameters being tested, i.e. trip time plus contact resistance. However, when conducting complete tests with all electrical parameters including dielectric and leakage, the throughput is generally 800 to 1000 units per hour at a rate dependent on the amount of time required to conduct the tests. Custom speeds are available upon request.

Are your test benches able to be integrated with MES or ERP systems?

Yes! Each of our test benches come with the capability to scan your products using barcodes or QR codes, save your test results, and either submit the data directly via REST API or export as an SQL file. Therefore, we can provide you with complete MES integration solutions involving real-time monitoring of quality, statistical process control (SPC) charts, and complete traceability.
